More couples now send their wedding invitations on WhatsApp, alongside printed cards or instead of them. A digital invitation reaches every guest instantly, costs nothing to deliver, and can carry far more than paper: music, movement, maps and the full programme of events.

The two most popular formats are the animated video invitation and the flip-book e-card. Both can look beautiful; they simply suit different needs.

The video invitation

A video invitation is a short animated film, usually set to music, that reveals the couple's names, the date and the venue. It works best when you want a strong first impression — something guests watch, enjoy and forward to family.

Choose a video invitation if you want:

  • An emotional, cinematic reveal with music
  • One clear message for every guest
  • Something easy to share and play on any phone

The flip-book e-card

A flip-book e-card turns its pages like a real wedding card, right on the phone. Each page can hold a different function — Haldi, Mehendi, Sangeet, the wedding and the reception — with its own time and venue.

Choose a flip-book if you want:

  • Room for several functions and their details
  • The feel of a traditional card, page by page
  • A format guests can come back to when they need a time or an address

Can you have both?

Yes. Many families send a short video to announce the wedding, then a flip-book with the full schedule. Designed together, the two feel like a matching set.

Before you start

  • Finalise names, dates and venues before design begins; changes later take time.
  • Decide the languages, for example Hindi and English.
  • Gather any photos, family names or blessings you want included.
  • Start early, so guests receive the invitation well before the first function.
