Kevät Spices
A heritage spice brand — studio concept
The brief
We set ourselves a brief: design a complete heritage spice brand from scratch — name, story, identity, packaging and digital presence — to show how we would build a food brand end to end.
The challenge
Indian spice shelves are full of loud, look-alike packs. A new brand needs a story people remember and a pack that stands out without shouting.
The approach
The brand is built around Kevat, the boatman from the Ramayana who ferried Lord Ram across the river — a metaphor for spices “ferried fresh from organic farms to your kitchen”.
From that story came a warm, earthy five-colour palette (kraft cream, terracotta red, olive green, mustard gold and ink brown), a friendly hand-shaped wordmark, and a system of accent colours that lets each product stand apart while the range still looks like one family.
What we delivered
- Brand story
- Logo system
- Colour palette and typography
- Ten spice pouches, front and back (a tin range planned as a later phase)
- Carry bag
- Stationery
- Website, Facebook and Instagram mock-ups
- A 17-slide brand presentation
The outcome
As a concept, there are no sales results to report; the project shows our full branding and packaging process, from story to shelf.
